Rainbow Kitchen Community Services offers Food
Pantry and Emergency Food assistance to residents of the Steel Valley area. The
Food Pantry operates every 2nd and 3rd Thursday of the month from 3:30pm to 6:00pm.
Service Areas: Homestead, West Homestead, Munhall, Whitaker, West Mifflin, Hays
Individuals interested in participating in the food pantry need to meet our
income guidelines, possess current identification, and live in our service area.
If an individual is interested in signing up
for the food pantry they will need to make an appointment with the case manager,
and return with the following information.
1. Proof of income: (Food Stamp award letter; case letter from welfare, SSI, or
SSD; copy of pay check or check stub for past 30 days, or amount of
unemployment compensation; verification of amount of child support paid for last
30 days.)
2. Proof of residency (current): (Lease/mortgage; Rent receipt; utility bill;
drivers license.)
3. Social Security numbers for all household members
4. Current utility and other bills
Case Management services are offered to individuals and families who need help and guidance with special problems, and assistance with improving their ability to function independently and achieve self-sufficiency.
